We are delighted to introduce a new Inside Out Practitioner dedicated to supporting Bradford Children and Families. This new service has been developed to provide specialist support for children, young people and families who are impacted by parental imprisonment.
The practitioner will provide tailored 1:1 outreach support, offering practical and emotional support to help families navigate the challenges associated with imprisonment. In addition, the service will deliver peer support groups, creating safe spaces where families can connect with others who have shared experiences, reduce isolation and build resilience.
To ensure support is accessible across the district, the Inside Out Practitioner will be based across each Bradford Children and Families Hub, working alongside practitioners and partner agencies to provide early intervention and coordinated support. This hub-based approach will make it easier for families to access the help they need, when they need it.
Parental imprisonment can have a significant impact on children’s emotional wellbeing, relationships, education and development. By working collaboratively with Bradford Children and Families teams, Family Hubs and partner organisations, this new service aims to improve outcomes for children and families through timely, compassionate and trauma-informed support.
We look forward to working with partners across Bradford to ensure that no child or family has to face the impact of imprisonment alone.
